Haridwar, October 7. Mr. Alok Kumar Pandey of Dev Sanskriti University, located in Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand, was honored by the Honorable President, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu, at a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. Mr. Alok Kumar Pandey, an active volunteer of the National Service Scheme (NSS), was awarded the “My India – National Service Scheme President’s Award 2022-23.” The Rashtrapati Bhavan DESNU, along with its family, was invited as guests to the ceremony. The
DESNU’s guardians, the revered Dr. Pranav Pandya and the revered Shail Didi, Vice Chancellor Mr. Sharad Pardhi, Registrar Mr. Baldau, and the university family congratulated Mr. Alok Kumar. Mr. Alok Pandey played a key role in spreading public awareness about public welfare initiatives such as digital literacy, the Ujjwala Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana, and Digital India. He also provided active leadership to campaigns such as water conservation (Aakal Prayog), plastic-free India, and the Swachhata Abhiyan. During his NSS tenure, he made exemplary contributions to the welfare of society and the nation, bringing the university’s ideals to life and inspiring work in various areas of human service. Mr. Alok contributed to increasing greenery by planting 710 trees. He also organized numerous blood donation camps to educate the community about the importance of blood donation and set an example of service by donating blood five times himself.
On this achievement, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, Vice-Chancellor and Youth Icon of DVSU, said that Alok Pandey has highlighted the values of Dev Sanskriti University through selfless service, discipline, and dedication in the NSS. This award will serve as an inspiration for the younger generation. Dr. Umakant Indolia, NSS coordinator of the university, said that this award is a matter of pride for the NSS University, which will inspire all volunteers to contribute to social service with even greater dedication and commitment.
